2026-05-07 13:36
Library of Dreams has been nominated for the DOK.digital Award for New Narrative Formats 2026 at DOK.fest München. The award celebrates bold approaches to non-fiction storytelling and recognizes projects that combine media formats, platforms, and content in meaningful new ways.
Sponsored by the Bayerische Landeszentrale für neue Medien and endowed with EUR 2,500, DOK.digital highlights how technological shifts are reshaping the future of documentary storytelling. Library of Dreams is nominated alongside CITYFLOW - LOOMITS MUNICH, OH EUROPA! DANGEROUS GAMES, SCRATCHING THE SURFACE, and UNHOME VR - APART FROM SOCIETY.
Library of Dreams is a 20-minute animated VR documentary by Jane Rzheznikova. The experience guides viewers through the dreams of people living under oppressive regimes, transforming historical and contemporary dream research into an embodied journey through fear, complicity, and the hidden trauma left by political terror.
The project is produced by Alina Mikhaleva through Less Media Group and developed in co-production with Abduct Media, represented by Davide Maria Emanuel Cocchiara. The nomination comes as the team moves toward the project's planned 2026 release.
The team is grateful to DOK.fest München and the DOK.digital Award for recognizing new narrative forms and supporting the future of documentary storytelling.
